Our mission is clear.
Delivering the compensation you deserve.

fatal injury claims

Losing a loved one can be a devastating and traumatic life event. At Geoffrey Leaver Solicitors we have helped hundreds of people who have been bereaved in tragic circumstances and understand the impact it can have both emotionally and financially.

Our priority is always to ensure that you and your family have access to all the care and advice you need whilst helping you claim fatal accident compensation to get you through this difficult time.

Our fatal injury solicitors can also guide you through any dealings with the police or the coroner if an inquest is likely to be held – and we will always treat your case with sensitivity and compassion.

What can I claim for?

In these situations, we can apply for interim payments for financial support, as well as ensuring that all of your losses – now and in the future – are included when seeking compensation.

You may also be entitled to claim for loss of financial support from your loved one, funeral costs and the statutory award for bereavement – which is an additional payment made by the negligent party to a spouse or parent of a child under 18.

How long do I have to make a fatal injury claim?

In the UK, you have three years to make a fatal injury claim and the time limit usually starts from the date of the injury or accident.

Can I make a No Win No Fee claim for compensation?

The majority of fatal claims we handle are arranged on a No Win No Fee basis, which means that you don’t need to worry about expensive legal costs or pay anything upfront.

No win no fee is when we take out an insurance policy on your behalf, meaning if your claim is unsuccessful you won’t have to pay a penny. To learn more about how this works view No Win No fee.

How much can I claim for a fatal accident?

Everyone’s situation is assessed on an individual basis and we work to ensure that you and your family receive the compensation you deserve. We will evaluate how much compensation you’ll get which is dependent on a number of factors:

• Pain & suffering caused to your loved one
• Funeral costs
• Medical expenses
• Loss of benefits like pensions and future earnings
