Kerr has over 30 years of property law experience, and has spent the last 22 years specialising in Commercial Property.
He started his career as a summer job with a small local firm in its Plot Sales department and after a couple of years joined a leading firm in the City acting for some of the country’s main developers at the time. This was followed by a period in Harrow- on -the – Hill acting on a broader range of property transactions for more regional property developers.
Kerr has specialised in Commercial Property since 2000, and has a broad range of experience in most aspects of land law and Landlord & Tenant related matters ranging from High Street leases to large commercial premises on business parks, and from small land acquisitions to complex developer site agreements. Kerr also acted for a few of countries leading commercial lenders and banks, and a handful of sub-prime lenders dealing with secured lending and securitisation.
He previously worked for a large regional Legal 500 firm on a wide range of transactions, and has recently come full circle and returned to the area joining Geoffrey Leaver in 2021.
In his spare time Kerr is a keen photographer and has had various levels of success at club and regional competitions, with some of his work being accepted at the odd exhibition up and down the country. By admission he is of course his own worst critic.
