The role

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside the head of the department delivering high-quality legal services and contributing to the growth and development of the department.

More importantly this role provides a rare and exciting opportunity for the right candidate to progress a career quickly to partner level.

Key skills

The successful candidate will be able to conduct their own case load whilst assisting other fee-earners and partners in providing advice and proactive service to the firm’s clients.

As an excellent communicator you will excel at building strong working relationships with colleagues and other external stakeholders, whilst mentoring other team members to ensure the service provided is delivered in a timely fashion, managing costs and clients’ expectations.

In this role you will be required to take responsibility for credit control on matters as well as achieving targets for billing and time recording.

Department specific

By joining our team you will have a varied case load of running client matters including:

  • Landlord and tenant (acting for both)
  • Agreements for lease/Leases
  • Development – acting in site acquisition, planning and leasehold disposals
  • Funding agreements
  • Promotion Agreements
  • Options and rights of pre-emption
  • Overage and clawback arrangements
  • Planning agreements
  • Leasehold Assignments
  • Freehold Acquisition and Disposal
  • Acting for lenders
  • High level advice

Experience

This is a senior role so best suited to someone with the equivalent of 7+years PQE. However, less experienced candidates who can prove they have the skills and qualities needed will certainly be considered.

Effective communicator, both oral and written, with excellent knowledge and understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct and other relevant regulatory requirements.

A self sufficient individual with excellent IT skills and ability to develop positive relationships with a strong focus on marketing and networking for business development.
