Contentious Probate/Trust & Commercial Disputes Solicitor/Legal Executive

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work alongside four experienced partners, who have a breadth of expertise that covers even the most complicated disputes. The successful candidate will be delivering high quality legal services and working alongside an experienced litigator and will be primarily involved in handling Contentious Probate and Trust claims and Trust of Land Act claims, as well as other commercial disputes. The role will present an opportunity of career progression as the Firm is looking to grow this area of the practice.

Key skills

The successful candidate will be able to conduct their own case load whilst assisting other partners in providing advice and proactive service to the firm’s clients.

As an excellent communicator you will excel at building strong working relationships with colleagues and other external stakeholders to ensure the service provided is delivered in a timely fashion, managing costs and clients’ expectations.

In this role you will be required to take responsibility for credit control on matters as well as achieving targets for billing and time recording

Department specific

To take on and run a mixed Commercial Litigation caseload, primarily to include Contentious Probate/Trust claims and Trust of Land Act Claims, but also other disputes that concern:

  • Disputes as to the validity of a will
  • Claims pursuant to the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
  • Claims relating to the misconduct of Executors and Trustees
  • Contentious Court of Protection matters
  • Trust disputes
  • Claims under the Trust of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996
  • breaches of contract
  • partner/shareholder issues
  • contentious insolvencies
  • professional negligence
  • real estate litigation
  • intellectual property litigation

Experience

We are looking for an experienced Litigator for this senior role.  However, less experienced candidates who can prove they have the skills and qualities needed will be considered.

Effective communicator both oral and written, who has excellent knowledge and understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct and other relevant regulatory requirements.

A self sufficient individual with excellent IT skills and ability to develop positive relationships with a strong focus on marketing and networking for business development.
