Suggestions sought for changes to property law by law commission for its 13th programme of law reform

Darren Millis | Aug 2016

The Law Commission is seeking comments on its suggested projects which will transform the law, and is in the process of inviting consultees to submit ideas of their own.

The Law Commission seeks views on:

  • Whether there are areas of leasehold law that impose unnecessary restrictions, inefficiencies or costs.
  • Whether banks’ duties to customers should be restated and reviewed to make them more effective. This might cover, for example, regulation of mortgages.

We will update our clients on proposals and changes as they are proposed. The consultation closes on 31 October 2016.
