Compensation for epileptic patient discharged from hospital too soon

Ann Summerling | Nov 2015

Geoffrey Leaver Solicitors acted for an epileptic lady who was taken to hospital following a seizure in a local shopping centre. She was discharged from hospital after a few hours, despite warnings from her and her family that her history was that was very likely to have a second seizure.

The client had a second seizure as she was getting into her son’s car in the car park and she fell onto the concrete, cutting her head. She was readmitted to the Accident & Emergency Department where her head wound was glued. She suffered 2 weeks of headaches and tenderness to the site of the wound. She received £1500.00 in compensation.
