Fatal Accident Injury Claims
Your Opinion
Gregory Hollingworth
A fatal accident injury is the most devastating event for a family. Grief is overwhelming but at the same time there are practical matters which have to be attended to such as the involvement of the Police and Coroner’s office, and often confusion over the circumstances of the death itself.
Our commitment to you is to provide you with support through the legal process of investigating a fatal accident claim including inquest proceedings and bringing the claim to a conclusion as soon as possible.
We will advise you on the two claims that arise on death: the Estate Claim and the Dependant's Claim. We will claim for funeral expenses, the statutory bereavement award (£11,800 in appropriate cases) and for the loss of financial support and services as a result of the death of your loved one. For more information on what you can claim and the role of the Coroner and the Inquest see the Related Links below.
When can a claim be made?
A claim must be brought and issued in Court within three years of the date of the accident otherwise it will be statute barred and except in exceptional circumstances, the claim will fail.
