Richard Millard

Richard is Head of our Construction team and a Partner in our Dispute Resolution department. He qualified as a solicitor in 1998 and joined Geoffrey Leaver as a Partner from Fennemores in May 2006.

In the 2008/09 edition of Legal 500 he was “recommended” for construction work and for having a growing reputation in that sector and is highlighted in the Dispute Resolution section of the 2009/2010 edition as being “well versed in relevant legal matters”.

Richard has acted in over 50 adjudications as well as in arbitration, court proceedings and alternative forms of dispute resolution such as mediation. He acts for a wide range of clients including developers, employers, main contractors, sub-contractors, housing associations and professionals. He also advises on and drafts building contracts, s106 agreements, deeds of appointment, collateral warranties, bonds and other documents.

As part of the Dispute Resolution team Richard also advises clients who have commercial disputes involving the sale and supply of goods and services, professional negligence claims, agency and distribution agreements, franchise agreements and many other contracts.

He is member of the Society for Construction Law.

Outside of work he is qualified as a PADI Open Water scuba diver, likes to cook and has recently taken up golf (which he plays badly).
